Mill Ford School

About our children

We have a delightful mix of children and young people in our school community. They range in age from 3 to 19 years and come from Plymouth, West Devon and East Cornwall.

All have severe learning difficulties, some have more complex medical and learning needs known as profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). About a third of our pupils have Autistic Spectrum Disorders and associated social, emotional and learning needs.

All our pupils are individuals, with different and diverse conditions. All are treated as individuals and respected as such.

Our small groups, experienced staff and specialist facilities enable us to work in partnership with parents to play to their strengths and maximise their potential.

We have a full time school nurse on site, who oversees and advises on all medical issues. High quality speech and language therapy and physiotherapy are available, adding further in house specialist provision.
