Mill Ford School

Do you think your child needs us?

Our children are referred to us in a variety of different ways.

Often professionals who work with children during their early years will highlight any areas of concern. These may be specific issues to do with hearing, vision or physical development or they may relate to delayed general development. They will discuss their feelings with parents and may recommend some form of assessment.

This may involve several sessions at the Child Development Centre or a placement at a community nursery with specialist provision.

Following a period of assessment professionals will discuss their findings with the families and suggest visits to appropriate school settings.

Mill Ford is one of two schools which cater for children with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) in the Plymouth area. Downham, the other SLD school, is in Plymstock, on the other side of the city.

If you would like to visit the school to see what we have to offer and to  discuss any concerns please phone to make an appointment.
