Formal

Formal learning is subject specific and these subjects are the branches of our educational tree, that enables our learners to leave us successful life long learners, who are able to engage with the world. Formal learners are those who are ready to engage in learning at the early stages of the National Curriculum. In KS2 this will still be via a topic-based approach but the themes within will have a much more subject specific focus and progress will be tracked in an individual but more subject focused manner. This approach will continue into KS3 but will be delivered in a subject specific manner, including skills for living. This continues in KS4 and 5 but moves to life skills based learning and even more focused on preparation for life after school.
