Support Staff Vacancies:

We are looking for a number of Teaching Assistants to work at both of our school sites but focusing on Riverside School, Poole Park Road, St Budeaux, Plymouth.

Salary Scale: Grade C Point 5-7 annual FTE salary of £24,790.99 - £25,584 (pro rata £16,800 - £17,338).

29.17 Hours per week  – 39 weeks per year, permanent contract.

Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 9.00am – 3.10pm.

Weds 9.00am – 4.00pm.

We are looking to appoint several enthusiastic individuals with a love of learning and a sense of fun to join our team. The posts available will involve working with pupils who have complex needs and autism some of whom require support on a 1:1 basis. As such, it would be advantageous for applicants to have experience/ knowledge of working with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Severe Learning Disability (SLD). Ideally, applicants should have experience of working with special needs pupils, or youngsters in a nursery setting, as well as a strong level of resilience to support our pupils. Our pupils’ individual needs and education is of paramount importance to us, we work closely with parents and carers as well as other support agencies to ensure that this is delivered in the most appropriate manner. We aspire for our pupils to achieve and succeed in all that they do.

Candidates should be aware that support staff at Mill Ford School may be required to administer medication to pupils, following appropriate training.

Casual/Floating Mealtime Assistant

We are looking for a number of supply/floating Mealtime Assistants to work at both of our school sites. The position could be made permanent in September 2025 for the right candidate(s).

Salary Scale Grade B point 3 – FTE £22,737, Actual Salary £5,448.19 per annum plus additional hours

10 hours per week – 38 weeks per year + commitment to attend two Autumn Term Non-Pupil Days (September Safeguarding refresher and Autumn term Safety Interventions refresher) which the successful candidate would be able to claim additional hours for.

We are looking to appoint a flexible, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking individual to join our team.

Our Mealtime Assistants are required to work 2 hours a day, 5 days per week and term time only. Experience or knowledge of autism, Severe Learning Disability and Profound & Multiple Learning disability would be advantageous but is not essential as full training and support will be provided. Initial training will include Safety Interventions which involves several hours online training and one full day in person training which the successful candidate would be able to claim additional hours for).

The role can be challenging and does require a high level of resilience, but successful candidates will have the opportunity to support our incredible and amazing children and young people, with the full support of colleagues in class and the school as a whole, and share in their successes.
