Mill Ford Supply Bank:

Here, at Mill Ford School, we run our own Teaching Assistant supply bank of staff.

We fully appreciate that some people would like to be employed but need something on a more ad hoc basis which can fit in around their lives and other commitments. To this end, members of the supply bank are employed on a casual basis with no formalised contract but the role is fully flexible and there is no expected commitment to complete a set number of hours each week (we do ask that supply staff work at least one day every three months but this is our only stipulation). Supply bank work also provides an opportunity to complete paid employment and gain experience whilst working towards a formal Teaching and/or Learning qualification; we have a number of contracted staff who started with us on the supply bank.

Supply bank staff have the opportunity to attend training sessions on Non-Pupil Days, after school training on Wednesday's if appropriate and will complete Safer Interventions training to be able to fully support pupils whilst in class. The expectations of the role are the same as a Grade C Teaching Assistant - please see the links below for a role profile and person spec.

Supply bank staff are paid at Grade C, Spinal Point 5 rate - currently £12.18 per hour plus an uplift in respect of holiday pay, bringing the hourly rate up to £13.63, and hours worked on supply are paid a full calendar month in arrears.
